Prof. Dr. iur. Eva Inés Obergfell

Prof. Dr. iur. Eva Inés Obergfell is professor of Private Law, Intellectual Property Law and Copyright, Private International Law and Comparative Law at the Humboldt University in Berlin since 2011. As executive co-director, she leads the Josef Kohler Research Institute for Intellectual Property Rights, which is based in the university’s law faculty. Her research focuses mainly on areas of intellectual property, especially on copyright, unfair competition law, private international law and law of succession. Eva Inés Obergfell studied law at the universities of Bielefeld, Strasbourg and Konstanz. In 2000 she received the degree of doctor iuris based on her thesis “Movie contracts in German Substantive and Private International Law” at the University of Konstanz. In 2010 she was qualified as a university lecturer at the same university with her work about compulsory portions (Law of Succession). Since 2016 Eva Inés Obergfell is Vice President for Academic Affaires at Humboldt University.
